Before you ship / Burlington
Burlington First-PO Shipping Checklist
Independent checklist based on Burlington's public vendor documentation. Not affiliated with Burlington.
Before you ship
Use this as a preflight, then confirm the current manual, your PO, and portal instructions before releasing freight.
- 01
PO / ship-window check
Confirm the freight terms and dates printed on the PO before applying a routing workflow. For collect orders, merchandise must be ready between Start Ship and Ship Cancel; prepaid deliveries follow the PO delivery window.

- 02
TMS routing requirement
If the PO is collect, submit every routing request through Burlington’s TMS with accurate carton, weight, cube, and pallet details. Route at least three business days before Ship Cancel and only when the goods are ready.

- 03
ASN requirement
Plan an accurate ASN for every order and delivery. Burlington requires receipt no later than 24 hours after carrier pickup, using final load quantities; rejected transmissions must be corrected and resent.

- 04
GS1-128 carton label
Apply a 4 × 6 GS1-128/UCC-128 shipping label to every carton. Carton identifiers and contents must match the ASN, and carton IDs must not be reused for one year.

Prepare two complete BOL copies. Include every 9-digit PO and carton subtotal; add pallet and seal details where applicable, plus the routing confirmation CS# for collect shipments.

- 06
Packing / carton requirements
Use conveyable corrugated cartons with one 9-digit PO per carton—no envelopes, bags, straps, or bands. Verify the manual’s carton dimension and 1–65 lb weight limits before packing.

Expense-offset risks
Stop and verify shipments that fall outside the ship window, use a late or inaccurate ASN, exceed the PO, or are unauthorized or cancelled. The manual identifies refusal, vendor-paid costs, and expense offsets as possible outcomes.

Shipment-specific next step
Need the requirements for your actual PO?
Upload your purchase order and current vendor guide after checkout. Get a source-cited execution pack for that shipment—without a sales call.
Before you buy — $39, one-time purchase. Checkout comes first; upload both documents after payment.
Your pack is a downloadable HTML file with source-cited requirements. Every pack stays HOLD for verification; it does not approve shipment or certify compliance. Missing facts and retailer-portal checks remain unresolved.
Required files: a routing/vendor guide PDF and a PO PDF or UTF-8 CSV, each non-empty and no larger than 10 MB, with distinct filenames. PDFs must be no longer than 250 pages and contain searchable text on every page. Scanned or partly scanned PDFs are unsupported; blank pages or pages with fewer than 12 readable text characters are rejected.
